The joint committee moved several bills and resolutions out of committee during the session.
Reported with amendments or favorably moved:
- Senate Bill 56: reported with amendments after testimony on Lafitte levee finances and governance (see separate article).
- Senate Bill 171: reported favorably; provides for a coordinated use authority for water resources and related purposes.
- Senate Bill 252: reported favorably; adds 'no' and 'undecided' options to organ-donor recording on driver's licenses in the department's system.
- Senate Bill 72: electronic vehicle titles and registration; a multi-part amendment set was adopted (interoperability, lien processing timelines, digital title rules) and the bill was reported with amendments.
- Senate Bill 129: creates a special license plate for master combat infantryman badge recipients and adds designated state officials to a prestige plate; reported with amendments.
- House Resolution 243: amended to assign parish governing authorities (rather than DOTD) to place safety signage on the Tickfaw River; reported with amendments.
Deferred:
- House Bill 939 (Louisiana Vehicle Commission): a substitute bill was adopted for discussion, but Representative Carver requested voluntary deferral to allow more stakeholder work; the committee deferred the bill.
Procedural notes: Most bills were reported with no recorded objections in committee; several had public-support cards or brief testimony noted by the clerk. Where the transcript records no roll-call vote, actions were reported by voice or unanimous consent.
