The Oak Hill United School Corp. board reviewed a summer remediation plan for students who have not passed the state IREAD assessment and discussed staffing and costs tied to current enrollment.
Administration said the elementary summer program would run May 26–June 5, three hours each morning, and use a state-approved science-of-reading curriculum focused on remediation. The district identified 18 second graders and 15 third graders for the offer, for a current total of 33 students. Administration estimated the total program cost at about $8,900, with the district’s share approximately $3,600 if 33 students attend. The superintendent noted staffing may shift if additional students pass pre-summer testing windows.
Board members asked when students would retake the assessment; staff said the third attempt would be administered at the end of the summer-school period. Administrators also described the program’s connection to individual reading plans and IEP accommodations for students with special needs. Trustees did not finalize any additional actions during the discussion; the transcript shows the board reviewed the proposal and asked clarifying questions.
