The Richmond City Council agreed by consensus on procedural scheduling Thursday, continuing several agenda items to future meetings and setting a later public hearing for select budget items.
The clerk reviewed the docket and told the council that several papers would be retained on the consent agenda and that a number of ordinances and a resolution were being continued to future meetings. The clerk also announced that "for the record, all members are in attendance this evening with the exception of councilors Lynch and Aberbacher." The clerk said certain regular-agenda items would be continued to the June 8 council meeting unless otherwise directed and asked whether the council agreed to a proposal that items 10 and 13 be continued to the May 26 meeting and referred to the Finance and Economic Development Standing Committee.
Council member Trammell asked to be added as a co-patron to agenda item 13, saying, "I'd like to add my name, to number 13, please." The clerk acknowledged the request and noted the addition. A second was heard for the procedural motion to continue the items, and the clerk confirmed that there was consensus to move items 10 and 13 to the May 26 meeting and to refer them to the Finance and Economic Development Standing Committee.
The clerk also noted that items 14 through 22 are budget-related papers and that a public hearing would be held later in the evening on items 14 through 17 only. No referrals of service delivery issues were raised during the informal meeting. After docket review and procedural confirmations, the presiding officer declared the informal meeting adjourned.
No formal roll-call votes were recorded in the informal meeting transcript; actions described were continuances, referrals, and the addition of a co-patron noted on the docket. The council is scheduled to address continued items and the budget-related public hearing at the meetings and committee sessions indicated on the docket.
