City to seek developers for Carson Civic Center campus featuring performing arts, city hall and housing

Mayor Lula Davis‑Holmes described a planned Carson Civic Center campus she said will be a new centerpiece for the city and said a request for proposals will be issued within the next two months.

The mayor outlined the campus components as a multifunctional performing arts center, a modern city hall, 144 multifamily apartment units and about 4.6 acres of retail and entertainment space. She presented the campus as a mixed‑use hub intended to support civic functions, housing and commercial activity.

Davis‑Holmes did not provide a project budget, development partners or an exact construction timetable on the program; instead she encouraged developers to watch for the RFP and participate in the selection process.

Next steps: the mayor said an RFP will be issued and the city will proceed with developer selection and subsequent public review steps.
