The Clay County School Board on April 2 approved several routine but consequential administrative items, voting unanimously on a human resources special action, adoption of instructional materials for grades 6–12, and the district's 2026'2027 allocation package.
During the meeting the board opened and closed a public hearing on the adoption of English language arts, world languages and career and technical education materials for grades 6'12; no members of the public spoke during the hearing and the board approved the materials (motion by Ms. Gilhausen, second by Mr. Alvero).
Board members also moved to approve a district allocation package for the 2026'2027 year (motion by Ms. Clark, second by Mr. Alvero) and voted to adopt the consent agenda, which included proclamation numbers 26'14 through 26'17 establishing observances such as Teacher Appreciation Week (May 4'8, 2026) and Administrative Professionals Week (April 20'24, 2026). All motions carried 5'00.
Superintendent Brosky and board members highlighted that these votes are part of routine district governance and noted next steps such as implementing approved materials in schools and moving forward with allocation planning for the coming fiscal year.
The board adjourned after routine board remarks and scheduled follow-up actions tied to the approved items.
