Renee Harris, Reno County human resources director, presented a draft request for proposals to hire an executive search firm to recruit a new county administrator and asked the commission for direction on the firms to solicit and the proposal timeline.
Harris said staff had identified three candidate firms through peer recommendations but learned that two had recently merged; as a result the solicitation currently lists two distinct firms with Kansas ties. Commissioners asked staff to shorten the response period. After discussion, Harris agreed to change the submission deadline so firms would have two weeks to respond and to correct a profile error that incorrectly stated the number of incorporated cities in Reno County.
Commissioner (speaker 4) moved and the commission approved accepting the RFP as presented with the new due date. Harris said staff will email the solicitation to expedite responses and expects to present returned proposals to the commission for review.
