Appropriations committee advances three Senate bills to Committee of the Whole; votes recorded

The House Appropriations Committee advanced three Senate bills to the Committee of the Whole during its May 11 meeting. Committee leaders said there were no committee-originated amendments to most bills, and members completed roll-call votes before adjourning.

Senate Bill 189 was moved to the Committee of the Whole by the vice chair after sponsors were recognized and the committee’s amendment phase closed. The committee reported the motion carried by a tally announced as "That passes 10 to 1." The committee did not adopt any floor amendments to SB 189 during this hearing.

Senate Bill 115 was considered next. The committee accepted amendment J4 without objection; Madam Vice Chair then moved SB 115 as amended to the Committee of the Whole. After a roll-call vote, the chair announced the motion passed by a reported 8–3 margin.

Senate Bill 116 was the final bill on the agenda. Committee members did not offer amendments; the vice chair moved the bill to the Committee of the Whole, and the motion passed on a reported vote of 8–3.

The chair said the Appropriations Committee will meet again tomorrow morning and adjourned the session. The committee did not record additional debate on the bills beyond the procedural motions, the amendment acceptance for SB 115, and the tallying of votes.
