The Yanceyville Town Council at its May 11, 2021 recessed meeting took several procedural actions in addition to approving a rezoning.
Councilman Brian Massey moved and Councilman Keith Tatum seconded that Mayor Alvin Foster continue as the Town’s representative on the Caswell Economic Development Commission; the motion passed unanimously and Mayor Foster thanked council members for their confidence.
Interim Town Manager Kamara Barnett reported she had received a request from the family of Lossie Pearl Stokes Lea to honor her 100th birthday on June 24, 2021 with a proclamation. Mayor Foster moved to provide the proclamation; Councilman Brian Massey seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
The council then moved into closed session under G.S. 143‑318.11 for personnel and attorney‑client consultation on a motion by Mayor Pro Tem Odessa Gwynn, seconded by Councilman Keith Tatum; the motion passed unanimously. After returning from closed session, the council recorded that it had no report at that time and reconvened in regular session on subsequent motions by Mayor Pro Tem Gwynn and Councilman Massey.
The meeting record shows no public comments on agenda items and the council adjourned after a motion by Councilman Keith Tatum, seconded by Councilwoman Margie Badgett‑Lampkin; that motion passed unanimously.
