The Weatherford City Council approved a package of actions clearing the path for a two‑lot QuikTrip development at the southeast corner of BB Fielder and South Main Street (2551 South Main).
Staff planner Caleb Kettner summarized the request as a general plan and zoning map amendment with a planned development overlay and a conditional use permit for a fueling station on a 9.0403‑acre tract. The planned development will require the applicant to return with detailed proposals for the second lot; staff and the Planning & Zoning Commission recommended unanimous approval.
An applicant representative, Brian Clark, attended the hearing and said he was available to answer council questions. Kettner told the council the request included a conceptual site plan and that the planned development standards would require higher‑quality materials, masonry screening for dumpsters and limited monument signage. "This is a request from QuikTrip to locate on this property," Kettner said, describing elevations and screening shown in the packet.
Council approved the zoning map amendment and conditional use permit and later approved the preliminary plat for the two‑lot subdivision with the conditions recommended by staff and the planning commission. The approvals were recorded as unanimous votes by the council.
Next steps for the applicant include returning with final development plans for the planned development and satisfying the conditions listed in the staff report before building permits will be issued.
