The board approved several routine personnel and local-interest items during June meetings.
Commissioner Rick Roberts moved to appoint Susan Shields to the Salem-Washington Township Public Library Board upon the library board's recommendation; Commissioner Todd Ewen seconded the motion and it passed.
Kevin Stewart and Rose Anderson provided a financial update on the county fair and said they will supply a full reconciliation after the event.
John Quatroke reported that four additional names—Clinton Coyle, Scott Aims, Joseph Salkeld and Shawn Camp—were added to the veterans memorial on the courthouse lawn; a donor paid to add the names and the veterans group will coordinate cleanup efforts with Tony Maranto.
Resident John Perry asked the highway department to deepen a ditch near his property by Enon Church to reduce water backup during heavy rains. Superintendent Jason Clodfelter said he would inspect the property and try to resolve the issue after paving work was completed.
The board also heard from Maggie England about upcoming Health Department board appointments; she cited Indiana Code 16-20-2.4(b)(3), which requires one board appointee to be selected from a list of three recommendations from the executive of the county's most populous municipality. Two health-board seats will be up for replacement or reappointment at year end and the health board will submit recommendations before December.
