An eight-by-12 rear-yard storage shed at 225 Clinton Avenue received Historic and Architectural Review Board approval at the May 7 Planning Board meeting.
The applicant, Rachel Comby, told the board she had contracted Bartlett Trees for planting and irrigation upgrades and said the new plantings "are under warranty" and would be maintained. Comby said the shed placement is the furthest feasible spot in the rear yard and that existing mature cedars and a privacy fence already block views from the neighboring property.
Board members reviewed updated photos and survey plans provided by Comby and discussed village screening practices. The board 9s resolution granted HRB approval subject to the submitted plans and materials. The vote was carried by voice; members recorded ayes and thanked the applicant for addressing neighbors' concerns.
The applicant said the shed will match the house color and window style, and the board noted there was no village code requirement that accessory sheds be invisible to neighbors but that natural screening is commonly requested. The approval closes the item unless plan revisions are later filed.
