The Delaware Valley Regional High School District’s operations committee updated the board on a set of facilities needs, providing cost estimates and funding options for athletic and building systems projects.
Operations committee chair Mr. Freddy said a quote from A&J to replace the baseball/softball scoreboards is $27,855 and that boosters and alumni contributions had been pledged to offset the cost. "The quote from A&J to replace them is $27,855. That's a winning quote. Boosters have offered 10,000. The class of '68 has offered 1,000 and 9,000 to come from St. Luke's and the balance is available from the current budget," he reported.
Committee members discussed softball backstop estimates in a preliminary range of $34,650 to $42,000 and described a separate stormwater and dugout project awaiting soil conditions with an expected two- to three-week construction window once work begins. The district also reported that rooftop HVAC work generally appears complete but that the cafeteria unit delivery had been delayed until June 10, which will push startup dates for that system.
The board was also presented with reserve balances: a capital reserve of $685,334 and a maintenance reserve of $280,340, which were referenced as potential funding sources for some projects.
Next steps: committees will continue to refine specifications (the fire alarm spec was described as incomplete and requires re‑specification and updated co‑op quotes), seek final bids where needed and return recommended contract awards to the board for action.
