Port Orange Planning Commission elects Scott Sager chair, Stan Schmidt vice chair

At the start of the March 26 meeting, the Port Orange Planning Commission conducted elections for chair and vice chair. Commissioners nominated Scott for chair; the nomination was seconded and Scott accepted. Stan Schmidt was nominated and seconded for vice chair and accepted as well. With one nominee for each office, commissioners approved both positions by acclamation and the new officers took effect immediately.

Following the vote, commissioners proceeded with the agenda. The election was uncontested and no roll-call tally beyond the acclamation was required. Commissioners offered brief comments thanking staff and acknowledging the transition.
