Dauphin County commission announces new transportation planner, staff retirement and May 7 annual luncheon

Commission leaders announced personnel updates and upcoming events. Brian Snyder was introduced as the commission’s new transportation planner; members said he brings about 10 years of county planning experience and joined the commission in mid-January.

Diane, who leads finance/administrative functions, told members she will retire at the end of the year. “I will be retiring at the end of this year, December 31st,” she said and asked staff to start the job ad so the commission can recruit and train a replacement during the remainder of the year. Members thanked her for years of service and discussed making sure a handover and recruitment process begins promptly.

Staff also reminded members that the commission’s 2025 annual report is posted online and that the annual luncheon is scheduled for May 7; invitations were distributed and the guest speaker will be Joe Woodcom to discuss water issues and regional cooperation. Members were encouraged to respond and attend if their schedules allow.

Next steps: staff will post the retirement job ad, begin recruitment and ensure Diane’s responsibilities are transitioned; the annual luncheon proceeds as scheduled on May 7.
