Board members reported progress on the district’s superintendent search and provided an update on the field house project.
The board president said the superintendent search is in its third round of interviews this week and that community volunteers will participate in the next round. The board’s stated target is to have a candidate named and ready to start July 1.
On the field house, the president said bids have been received and the district is reviewing budgetary needs before deciding whether to proceed. He said the board will hold a public meeting about the project after Easter "once we have all the financial information and possible options that we need to look into for consideration." The board encouraged the public to watch the district website and social media for the meeting announcement.
No formal vote on the field house occurred; board members indicated additional financial analysis and a public meeting will precede any decision to move forward.
Separately, the board received routine committee and liaison reports — including a clean Intermediate Unit audit — and noted state legislation under consideration that could affect districts, including bills on drones over school grounds (HB 2239), school mental-health staffing (HB 2253), evaluation timelines (HB 2275), and a bill proposing referenda for certain tax increases (SB 1192).
