Board ratifies prior conditional approval for McCutt(en) High School after downstream notifications

The Tippecanoe County Drainage Board ratified a prior conditional approval for the McCutt(en) High School project after receiving confirmation that project staff had notified three adjoining property owners whose backyards may be affected by culvert installation and grading.

Karen Collins (Civil and Environmental Consultants) said the project was before the board in the previous month and that the current appearance is to document downstream notification required by county ordinance. She described the north-side open ditch and identified that parts of the improvements affect adjacent backyards where culverts and small grading changes are proposed.

Staff noted the outlet for the detention basin sits in a drainage and utility easement platted with the subdivision, so the applicant is operating within its rights. A board member moved to ratify the prior conditional approval and the motion passed without public comment.

The board flagged this as a compliance/notification matter rather than a change to the underlying approval.
