Commission approves bold color scheme for 1361 Rivermont with a white‑sash condition

Alec Gilman, contractor for the applicant, presented a three‑color scheme for 1361 Rivermont: a light purple body, a darker purple for trim and rakes, and an ox‑blood/brown accent for sashes and gables. Commissioners generally endorsed the palette as consistent with Queen Anne neighborhood character and encouraged keeping window sashes white to retain historic window definition.

One commissioner described the district as a place to "turn up the volume on our colors" for Queen Anne homes, and the board approved the color plan with the recommendation (which the commission formally attached as a condition) that window sashes remain white; the upper gable accent color will be finalized administratively with staff.

The applicant will coordinate details for administrative approval of the gable accent and work with staff on final paint chip selections.
