Lindseay Chapen of Great River Associates briefed the Henry County Commission on March 31 about the status of several bridge projects in the county.
Chapen reported that work on BRO BO4231 required removing previously placed rebar and formwork so crews could realign and reset the girders per plan; the contractor corrected the problem before the deck was poured. "We were glad we caught it before the decking was poured," Chapen said.
On BO4201, Chapen said threatened and endangered species clearances, right-of-way plans and conveyance documents are complete, and that the Missouri Department of Transportation has approved the cultural resources report; the submitted cultural-resources material has been forwarded to the SHPO for final review. Commissioner Jim Stone signed a floodplain-development permit related to the project during the meeting.
Chapen also discussed future BRO bridge work and coordination with county staff. The commission received the update for information; no contract award or additional funding vote was recorded during the session.
Clarifying details: BRO BO4231 required removal and resetting of rebar and formwork to achieve proper girder alignment before decking; BO4201 has completed species and right-of-way clearances and has MDOT cultural-resources approval pending SHPO review; floodplain permit signed by Commissioner Stone.
