Mayor Paul Seo said Rancho Palos Verdes continues to receive regular briefings from the Lomita (transcript: "Lamita") Sheriff's Department and reported that while overall crime is down, vehicle burglaries and check-washing (fraud) at the Peninsula Post Office have been concerns the city elevated to federal representatives for investigation.

Seo described the city’s camera subsidy program as a tool to assist law enforcement: residents may apply for a 50% matching subsidy, with a maximum stated in the transcript as $2,500.
