Rutherford County’s Property Management Committee on March 31 approved several administrative lease items and cleanup corrections.
The committee approved a 'cleanup' lease correcting the address for an EMS building lease from the town of Smyrna (correct address 440 Enon Springs East) and adjusting the stated term length to reflect the actual agreement. The cleanup lease was coordinated with the Town of Smyrna attorney and passed by roll call.
Staff also presented two nominal‑rent leases for community use at the Last Casses public health and safety site: one lease grants a community group use of the former volunteer fire department building as a community center; the other grants a separate nonprofit group use of baseball fields behind the public health and safety building. Both leases are $1 per year, require the tenant to perform repairs and maintenance, and require commercial general liability insurance (minimum $1 million per occurrence/$2 million aggregate) and casualty insurance for tenant fixtures and equipment. Staff said the leases mirror similar agreements the county has used at other community centers and that tenant maintenance provisions are standard.
All lease items were approved by the committee and will be forwarded for any additional administrative processing required.
