Assistant Director Veronica told the commission about several upcoming programs and events.
She said a low-cost pet vaccine clinic will be held at City Park on March 21 at 9 a.m., and staff expect heavy foot traffic because of other permitted activities that day. Spring camp for ages 5–13 is scheduled April 6–10 at the Kathy Hensel Youth Center for $100 per child; Veronica said four spaces remained at the time of the meeting and that registration is available through the department website (montebellorecreation.com).
Veronica said the Youth Employment Program application window opened March 3 and the 75-application cap filled in about 40 minutes; staff expect to hire roughly 40–50 youth to support city functions. She also previewed an April 28 City Park extravaganza from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with an adaptive egg hunt at 10:30 a.m., age-blocked egg hunts beginning at 11 a.m. and expected attendance around 3,000 based on prior-year turnout.
Veronica invited commissioners to help staff with the event and said staff will prepare for higher-than-usual attendance.
