Karen Schaff, a Park Hill social worker, told the meeting that Level Up Kids provides dental and vision care across the district and that Park Hill invested in her position, enabling her to move from part time to full time.
Schaff said the program "encompasses miles of smiles and eye care for kids," and that it allows staff to work across elementary, middle and high schools to meet student needs. "It's a unique position in that I get to move from elementary schools to middle schools to high schools with our dental team or our vision team, and ensure that the kids needs are met," she said.
Schaff described Level Up Kids and Park Hill working "in tandem" to make sure families are cared for and children feel a sense of belonging. She said Park Hill has "invested in this position," calling the recognition and community support important to sustaining the work. "It's nice to be recognized. It's nice to feel like people see the work that you do, and they believe in that value of your work," she added.
Schaff closed her remarks with an endorsement of district pride: "Park Hill Proud!" The testimony was presented as a brief statement of program success and district support; no formal action or vote was recorded in the transcript.
