Lebanon plans traffic-signal upgrade at 12th and Maple with Green Light GO grant; city share $95,000

Lebanon City presented a resolution authorizing the mayor to sign agreements with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation for an 80/20 Green Light GO grant to modernize the signalized intersection at 12th and Maple Street.

The mayor said the estimated total project cost is $463,000 with the city’s share roughly $95,000. He said the project is currently in the design phase and that “all work must be completed by May of 2028.” Chad was identified in the discussion as the staff member who submitted the grant application.

Council members asked whether the project had been included in the planned budget. The mayor said the notification arrived after the budget process and that the city share would come from liquid fuel funds. No formal vote on the resolution was taken during the pre-council briefing; the item was presented for council consideration at the upcoming meeting.

If approved, the grant will require the city to commit the local match and to finish design and construction in line with PennDOT timelines. Further budgetary details and scheduling will be addressed when the resolution is taken up formally at the next council meeting.
