Committee members agreed to rename the community festival formerly called All Nations Day as the "Keizer Cultures Celebration" and advanced event planning with volunteers, vendor outreach and partnership commitments.
Robin (speaker S5) presented a full event plan including vendor layout, authentic food truck requests, entertainment and children’s activities. She reported that the Keizer Heritage Foundation, local theater and museum had expressed support: "The theater is gonna do a cultural skit... the museum is going to try and find artifacts and bring them forward," she said, and noted the Heritage Foundation had agreed to let food trucks use a picnic area in their parking lot.
Members discussed event branding and whether to include the city iris or other municipal brand elements; staff (S6) noted that logo and brand standards would have to proceed through the arts commission and then city council. Several members volunteered for operational roles: Larry and Rolando for operations, Yerbo for volunteers, Laura Reed to coordinate children’s activities, and Dan Koller (city councilor) was recommended as a volunteer liaison.
The committee proposed practical logistics (vendors bring their own canopies and power, recycling and trash handled by Warren Sanitation, stage scheduling for inside/outside performances) and emphasized keeping the event simple and culturally authentic. Members also discussed taking photos and brief bios for committee visibility as part of outreach to encourage turnout for future events.
Next steps: Robin will follow up with assigned volunteers and vendors, resend assignment emails and coordinate with staff to route any required design/logo choices through the arts commission and council review. The committee did not set a final date in the meeting but asked members to prepare to support implementation and agreed to further planning by the event subgroups.
