Alabama Senate adopts resolution honoring Lieutenant Governor Will Ainsworth

The Senate unanimously adopted Senate Joint Resolution 105 honoring Lieutenant Governor Will Ainsworth for his service and leadership. The reading of the resolution described his background, accomplishments in workforce development and tax policy (including a sales-tax reduction on groceries credited in the resolution), and advocacy for Alabama’s military and aerospace sectors.

Multiple senators offered tributes praising the lieutenant governor’s leadership, family and public service. Senators spoke about his role in the Alabama Jobs Act, a pro-military legislative package and statewide economic development efforts. Will Ainsworth rose to thank colleagues, praised staff and requested the Senate continue its work on the people’s business.

Because the rules were suspended for immediate consideration, the resolution was adopted by the Senate and the lieutenant governor joined senators for photos on the floor.
