The Grandview Heights City Council approved Resolution 07-2026, authorizing a request to the Franklin County Treasurer for an advance of funds derived from property taxes and other sources, after the finance director described a county delay in tax receipts and a new county tax system.
Director Miller explained that Franklin County pushed back its property-tax payment deadline to the end of February and implemented a new tax system, which would likely delay the city’s usual March distribution until mid-May. The resolution requests an interim advance so the city can receive whatever funds the county has available sooner; the council approved the measure by roll-call vote. Vote: Houston — yes; Kak — yes; Anthony — yes; Smith — yes; Walker — yes; Weiss — yes; President Keeler — yes. The resolution was recorded as approved (Resolution 07-2026).
On a separate item, the clerk read an economic-development transfer of a liquor permit (AV Finley LLC to RAM LLC, 827 Goodale Boulevard) for a beverage amenity at a proposed Woodhouse Spa. City Attorney Kazam and Director Kuzam explained the transfer process and confirmed no concerns with the owner-operator. The council moved to not pursue action (i.e., registered no objection), a motion carried by voice vote.
No vetoes, recusals or roll-call no votes were recorded for either item. The meeting recessed briefly and the council proceeded to a work session without further formal actions on the other agenda items.
