Millville commissioners back move to restrict data centers; ordinance to be referred to planning board

Commissioners told the work session they favor drafting an amendment to the city’s land‑use ordinance that would prohibit data centers in Millville unless future changes address local concerns. Commissioner Newsome and other commissioners emphasized they have been on record opposing data centers in the city and want clearer definitions in the land‑use code to prevent developers from using other use categories to locate such facilities.
