President Hart told the Public Safety and Transportation Commission that work on a recommended flashing beacon at 9th and County Line Road has moved into the installation phase, with crews expected to begin next week and a planned completion date of April 2. “We expect installation to begin next week with a planned completion date of April 2,” Hart said.
George from public services added that crews have already started some base framing and that the physical installation should take about a week, weather permitting: “They've started it already… it should take us about a week to put it in.” Hart thanked public services, engineering and the police department for advancing the project.
The commission did not take a formal vote on the item; staff said the work followed the board referral and that the village’s public services and engineering teams will finish installation and turn the device over to operations once complete. No cost increase or change to scope was announced at the meeting.
