The Rockford Public School District Board of Education approved several personnel, contract and planning items at its regular meeting.
Superintendent contract: The board approved a three-year contract settlement that includes a 3% annual salary increase for Superintendent Dr Rle Hoover. The board moved and carried the approval by voice vote.
Graduation list and handbooks: The board certified the district s list of graduates and approved four handbooks (Galaxy Early Childhood parent, student and staff handbooks). The certification was approved on roll call; the handbooks were approved on a subsequent motion.
Contracts and renewals: The board approved a one-year renewal of the district s food-service contract for fiscal year 2025; administrators said the renewal will be followed by an RFP next year as required by law. Administrators indicated the renewal will be covered by the food-service line item in the budget and that the district has a healthy fund balance to cover near-term needs.
Plans and policies: The district operational plan for 2024-25 was approved; board members asked that completed tasks include dates when updated and that midyear and year-end progress reports be posted. The Q Comp plan (teacher leadership and PLC structures) was also approved after clarifying statutory differences between approving the plan versus acknowledging an annual report.
Donations: The board approved a resolution acknowledging an extensive list of community contributions, including gifts of time and supplies.
