Deming Public Schools presented quarter‑2 financials and several procurement items that the board voted to approve on March 26.
Finance staff summarized December 31, 2025 results: program revenues and SEG allocations are near expected levels, federal reimbursements can create timing variances, and salaries/benefits remain the largest expenditure. Staff noted the district target reserve of about $18 million (three months of cash) and explained several budget adjustments including increased Title I allocations and transportation fee changes.
The board approved a budget adjustment to reallocate funds between categories to cover operational needs and responded to higher state unit values that will affect next year’s planning. The board also approved a resolution to dispose of 13 aging district vehicles via public auction after facilities and transportation staff reviewed safety and efficiency concerns.
On procurement, the board awarded RFP 25‑06 for physical therapy services (one initial year with possible renewals up to three years), selecting the highest‑scoring proposer recommended by staff to ensure continuity of student therapy services starting July 1, 2026.
All motions were seconded and approved by roll call; staff will implement approved transfers and move forward with auction and contract steps.
