Board member Angeli Carter to resign April 10; board posts vacancy and sets application window

The board moved to approve the resignation of board member Angeli Carter. The motion passed unanimously by roll call (Mr. Morton, Mr. Callender, Ms. Boynton and Mr. Aikens voting yes).

Treasurer Tim explained the administrative timeline for filling the vacancy. He said Carter’s resignation is effective April 10 and the district will post the anticipated vacancy immediately, accepting applications through April 12. Interviews will be held the following week; under the applicable state rule explained by the treasurer, the board has 10 days to hold interviews and must announce an appointment at the next board meeting and within 30 days of the resignation date.

Board members agreed to proceed with the expedited timeline; no candidate names or interview dates were announced during the session. The district will return to the board with a selection at the next public meeting as required.
