Board votes to enter executive session to discuss personnel, property and legal matters

During the April 2 work session the board made and seconded a motion to convene an executive session for several enumerated purposes: consideration of appointment, employment, dismissal, discipline, promotion, demotion or compensation of a public employee; purchase or sale of property for public purposes; disputes subject to pending or imminent court action; and preparation for negotiations with public employees about compensation or conditions of employment.

The motion was seconded, and roll call recorded Ms. Boynton, Mr. Morton, Mr. Callender and Mr. Aikens voting yes. The board announced to the audience that it would convene the executive session and would not return to public session; the meeting was adjourned for the evening.

No public votes were taken following the executive session announcement; the transcript records only the board's motion to enter closed session and the adjournment of the public meeting.
