County commission candidate Jared Paige outlines priorities at South Charleston meeting

Jared Paige introduced himself to the council as a candidate for the Canol County Commission and summarized the priorities he would pursue if elected.

Paige said he currently serves as vice mayor and city councilman at large and previously served as a municipal judge. He said he will seek to continue work on the county’s dilapidated structures program, strengthen collaboration with the board of education and the sheriff’s office to keep children safe in schools, and promote economic development through the chamber of commerce. He noted endorsements from local elected officials and said he is running in the Republican primary on May 12.

His remarks were given during the recognitions/communications portion of the meeting; the council did not take any formal action on items related to his candidacy.
