The City Commission approved two tax‑increment financing (TIF) awards and a business‑license transfer in agenda items that followed the public‑comment period.
Resolution 4220 approved an application from Brandon Sandow for up to $20,000 in TIF funding for utility upgrades, façade improvements and signage at 414 1st Avenue North for a proposed laundromat. City staff corrected an address in the motion to 414 1st Avenue North; the motion passed on roll call.
Resolution 4221 approved up to $20,000 in TIF funding for renovation work on the historic Yogo (sometimes referenced in materials as the Noble/Yogo Mansion) at 316 3rd Avenue North for façade and concrete improvements as part of a larger historic renovation and conversion to lodging. Staff said the project is substantially larger than the TIF grant amount and the funds would specifically support exterior and utility upgrades.
The commission also approved a business‑license transfer for the new owner of Advanced Electric after staff confirmed required insurance, bonding and licensing. There was no substantive public opposition recorded during those agenda items.
Votes: Each resolution and the business‑license motion passed on roll calls recorded during the meeting; the roll calls recorded affirmative responses from commissioners present.
