Alton ZBA begins public hearing process on updated appeal-application fee schedule

The Alton Zoning Board held a public hearing on proposed amendments to its appeal-application guide and fee schedule. The board reiterated previously discussed changes: abutter-notice postage/handling to $10 per abutter (from $6), the notice-of-decision fee to $2 per applicant (from $1), and the newspaper notice fee to $90 (from $75). The changes had been posted and department copies were available to the public. No members of the public spoke for or against the fee updates during the hearing, and the board indicated the process for formal adoption was continuing in accordance with notice requirements.
