The Glocester Town Council approved several personnel actions on May 7, filling municipal vacancies and naming interim leadership in the police department.
Renee M. Fisher was appointed to fill the vacant position of tax assessor effective May 27, 2026; the council’s motion included an annualized salary with an increase contingent on the passage of the 2026–27 budget. Town staff said Fisher brings municipal assessor and clerical experience and will complete required certification after hire.
The council also appointed Stacy Pacietti as senior clerk in the town clerk’s office effective May 29, 2026, contingent on a background (BCI) check. Laurie Shariko was appointed deputy treasurer to serve as a second signatory in the finance office.
For police leadership, following Chief Del Prie’s retirement the council appointed Captain Jeffrey Jenison to serve as interim police chief until a permanent replacement is hired. The appointment includes a differential salary equal to the current chief’s pay; the council clarified duties would be effective May 8 and the salary differential would take effect with the payroll period beginning May 10, 2026.
Each appointment was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote during the meeting. Councilors requested that conditional salary increases be tied to budget ratification where noted and that personnel paperwork reflect those conditions.
