The Alameda County Board of Supervisors approved a resolution on item 7 to provide financing for a 51-unit affordable housing development at 3268 San Pablo aimed at extremely low- and low-income seniors.
Sameh Abdulgeni, project manager with Satellite Affordable Housing Associates, told the board the project will offer 51 units of subsidized housing and "foster a supportive living environment" with on-site services and amenities. "I hope that you will support this resolution to provide much needed financing for the project," Abdulgeni said.
Two supporters, Zach Wasserman and Elaine Brown, also spoke in favor of the Oakland and the World project. Supervisor Baez moved the item, it was seconded, and the board approved it by voice vote with the clerk announcing "4 ayes, 1 excused." The board had pulled item 4 earlier during the consent discussion but took up item 7 separately because there was a speaker on that item.
The action authorizes county financing documents and related approvals as presented; staff confirmed they had reviewed the applications and worked with the applicant on underwriting and program details. No additional speakers opposed the financing at the hearing.
Next steps: the approved resolution allows county staff to complete the related finance documents and proceed with the financing steps described in the agenda materials.
