On behalf of the board, the chair presented a formal commendation recognizing Anne Baker for receiving the Bay Area Council Business Hall of Fame award and praised her decades of leadership at Telecare.
Board members recounted Telecare's partnership history with Alameda County since the late 1970s, noted the organization's expansion to programs in multiple states, and emphasized Baker's role in developing recovery-oriented clinical systems and an independent physician service organization.
Baker accepted the recognition and thanked the board and county staff. She described stepping into leadership at age 29 following her father's work, reflected on Telecare's growth into 40 counties and eight states, and said she is "not retiring" and will continue work with partners and advocates on mental-health, homelessness and related challenges.
The board took a group photo with Baker and expressed appreciation for Telecare's services and staff.
