The committee agreed to hold a strategic-plan workshop to clarify goals and priorities and help recruit new members. The chair proposed using the April meeting to "dig into" a strategic plan so the group can "all really get on the same page" about priorities, roles and outreach.
Members confirmed the committee has nine seats with two vacancies and discussed recruitment tactics to fill them, including finalizing the strategic plan to clarify the committee's mission, using social media, and placing printed flyers in downtown businesses. One member volunteered to design a flyer and others said they would distribute materials in local shops.
Members also reviewed where committee documents should be stored and noted that Jane May likely holds original files; the committee asked Lindsay Falstick to contact Jane Stormer about prior versions of the group's documents and asked Dave Brer to circulate the bylaws for review. The committee asked members to read existing documents and the commissioners' site before the April meeting so the April session can focus on planning.
The group listed upcoming community events, including Pride on June 27 and a Junth event likely scheduled June 20–21, and assigned Lindsay to prepare talking points for June appearances. A member also donated a Plinko board for outreach events. The chair set meeting dates for April 30, May 28 and June 25 and reiterated that action items would be tracked at the next meeting.
