Votes at a glance: Connellsville Area board approves LED sign, pre-K MOUs, subscriptions and personnel actions

At its regular meeting, the Connellsville Area School District board approved a number of routine and consent items:

- Purchase of an 8 mm Ascend LED sign for the middle school for $14,735 from Signs Plus, to be paid from the middle school equipment budget (motion carried; roll call recorded).
- Memorandum of Understanding with PIC West (operation of PreK Counts/Head Start at 7:30 Rockford Road) for July 1, 2026–June 30, 2027 at $46,980 per year (motion carried).
- Memorandum of Understanding for PreK operation at Clifford and Prince Elementary proposed at $9,774 per year (motion carried).
- Acceptance of donations (listed on the agenda), approval to process tax requisitions and authorization to enroll in the PSBA unemployment compensation system for July 1, 2026–June 30, 2027 (administrative fee noted at $4.50 per employee), all motions carried.
- Personnel approvals including leaves, retirements and hires; multiple conditional hires were approved pending background checks.
- Renewal of the Smart Sub subscription through the intermediate unit for $9,000 for the 2026–27 school year.
