The council voted to authorize submission of an FY2027 community project funding request through the office of Representative Seth Magaziner on behalf of the West Gloucester Fire District.
The resolution designates the town as the grant applicant and fiscal agent and commits the town to execute grant documents, ensure federal compliance (2 CFR Part 200), and administer funds if awarded. The requested project includes ambulance replacement and acquisition of advanced cardiac life‑saving equipment to address increasing emergency call volumes and aging apparatus in the West Gloucester rural service area.
Council also authorized a memorandum of understanding between the town and the West Gloucester Fire District to document the town’s role in application and, if awarded, fiscal administration and project oversight. Council President was authorized to execute the application and related documents.
Separately, the council authorized a subaward amendment to an existing RIDE Learn 365 RI grant (Subaward #2720-141-01MM4) to accept an additional $5,500 for elementary schools; the Town Council President was authorized to sign the amendment.
