Haverford Township board adopts $166.3 million proposed final budget, sets millage at 20.3386

The School District of Haverford Township board on March 19 adopted the proposed final 2026–27 budget totaling $166,307,548 and set the millage at 20.3386.

Board members moved and approved the budget by voice vote. The board also approved the routine bill list for payment totaling $3,412,897.29 and multiple consent items discussed at the March 5 workshop.

In discussion the board noted the district currently projects a fund balance below the 5% target the district aims to maintain and that the millage increase reflects the maximum Act 1 index of 3.5% for the year. Members said there will be further opportunity for board and public discussion at the next work session before the budget is posted publicly.

The motion to adopt the proposed final budget passed by voice vote. The board did not record member-by-member tallies in the public meeting record; the minutes show the motion was adopted after the call for "I." votes.

What happens next: the district will present the budget again at a future work session and post the proposed final budget publicly before final adoption steps required by state law.
