Probation asked the court to modify GPS tracking for Vashawn Adams because she is scheduled for an induction (cesarean) on May 27. Probation said the defendant is in Bexar County, is pregnant and that removing GPS temporarily would accommodate hospital care; the state was aware and had no objection to the temporary modification.
Judge Stephanie Boyd ordered GPS monitoring removed on May 25 and directed that the monitor be reinstalled upon release from the hospital. The court approved ISP supervision and agreed to hold an inpatient-treatment referral (SATF) in abeyance while placing intensive outpatient treatment goals in place; the court also ordered a CICADA referral to support parenting and substance-use classes.
To check on post-release compliance, the court scheduled a field visit the week of June 8 and instructed the defendant to notify probation when discharged from the hospital so the monitor can be reinstalled. Judge Boyd emphasized that positive drug tests would still prompt inpatient treatment if necessary.
The defendant confirmed she understood the plans and requested the CICADA referral to help complete parenting and substance-use programming.
The order balances short-term medical needs with ongoing supervision requirements: the temporary GPS suspension is time-limited and subject to reinstatement on hospital release and continued testing and program participation.
