Council approves Dayspring Church annexation ordinance for 8.03-acre site

The Star City Council voted May 5 to adopt ordinance 434-2026, annexing and zoning roughly 8.03 acres owned by Dayspring Church Incorporated at 9701 West Beacon Light Road as rural residential with a development agreement.

Councilman Casper Nielsen introduced the ordinance and asked the council to dispense with multiple readings under Idaho Code §50-902; the council voted to proceed after a motion and second. Nielsen moved that the council adopt ordinance 434-2026 to annex the property and establish an R-R-DA (rural residential with development agreement) classification; the motion passed on a roll-call vote.

The ordinance directs staff to file certified copies as required by law and becomes effective as provided in the ordinance. No substantive public objections were recorded during the hearing; the action followed the standard annexation/rezoning procedure and included the associated development agreement terms as presented.
