The Kosciusko County Area Plan Commission approved a batch of subdivision plats May 6, advancing small lot splits and one final plat while flagging common conditions such as septic verification, easement documentation and floodplain/ drainage constraints.
Staff told the commission that the Pine Estates final plat matched earlier preliminary plans and needed no changes; prospective owner Lucas Britton said permits are in place and that "it's ready to rock and roll." The commission approved the final plat and staff will obtain the necessary signatures.
For Subdivision 2026‑1 (Lamar), staff noted the health department must confirm separate septic locations before final approval; the commission approved preliminary plan with septic verification as a condition. Scott Langler’s one‑lot division (Subdivision 2026‑4) was approved; Langler confirmed an existing cross‑easement will provide access to the new lot. Preliminary plats for Carl and Tammy Kendrick (Subdivision 2026‑5) and Kenneth Light (Subdivision 2026‑6) were also approved with conditions addressing septic verification, easement access and floodplain/drainage engineering where needed.
Commissioners repeatedly emphasized that building permits will not be issued until septic and other department approvals are satisfied. Staff said technical‑committee comments and any required engineering will be included in final review packets.
