Principal John Flanagan introduced a student presentation and asked the board to approve the Class of 2027 senior trip to Orlando for planning purposes. Two student presenters outlined the itinerary and conditions for participation.
"The class of 2027 is planning our senior trip to Orlando, Florida," one student told the board, describing anticipated participation of 40 to 45 students, four chaperones, the class advisor, and an administrator. The tour operator named in the presentation is Let's Go Freedom Travel; lodging is planned at Universal's Cabana Bay Resort, with park-hopper access for Universal, Epic Universe and a Disney park day. Dates presented were March 11–15.
Students emphasized that the trip is self-funded. The presentation stated academic and conduct requirements for participation: students failing more than one subject at the time payment is due will not be permitted to attend, and students with major disciplinary incidents will be disqualified. The group plans a parent meeting to review the itinerary, final costs, and payment options.
Following the presentation the board voted by voice to allow the senior trip "to move forward." Chair called for those in favor and the motion carried without recorded opposition in the transcript.
Flanagan noted that final costs were similar to last year but that a $20 per-person increase in Disney's one-day park hopper had been incorporated into projections. He also called out logistical advantages of the selected hotel for student rest and chaperone supervision.
Next steps: a parent meeting will be scheduled to present final pricing and collect deposits; the district will move forward with planning and communication to families.
