A presenter for Research Texas (speaker S13) told JCIT members that the statewide e-filing system has more than 1.1 million created accounts and is processing about 1,320,000 funds daily. The presentation included return-for-correction metrics showing some case types—protective orders and certain JP case types—have high correction rates.
Presenter S13 said integration progress is about 82% complete and suggested the committee target case types and counties with high return-for-correction rates for training and form fixes. The presenter suggested breaking down correction rates by filer type (attorney versus pro se) to better target remedies.
Committee members flagged that 51 counties account for about 86% of Texas' population but several large counties and many JP courts remain only partially integrated or not e-filing at all. Speaker S9 asked the committee to verify court-level data and to secure accurate contact information so the assigned team can interview JP offices and determine barriers—technology, funding or staffing—that prevent adoption.
Action assigned: the committee asked a small group to validate the data with OCA and Tyler, interview JP courts in targeted counties and report back at the June meeting with findings and recommendations on how JCIT might encourage broader JP participation.
Key numbers cited: "just over 1,100,000 users" (accounts created) and "about 76%" share for the state EFSP use in the presenter’s slide; the presenter said processing is now about 1,320,000 funds daily.
The committee agreed to reconvene on the matter at its next scheduled meeting on June 5 for a status update.
