Candidates introduce themselves at Connetquot board meeting ahead of May 19 election

Several candidates for the Connetquot Central School District Board of Education introduced themselves during the meeting’s candidate-introduction portion, which the board ran in reverse-ballot order in advance of the May 19 election.

Jacqueline Napolitano Furno identified herself as a long-time district resident and former board member who served on many committees; she described public‑safety and community service experience and said she remains active in local PTA work. Ed Barrett and other candidates outlined their ties to the district, work histories and reasons for seeking office. Jackie De Lorenzo, Jenny Getty and April Imeceli each briefly described their service to schools and communities and noted committees they have served on or ways they support students.

Why it matters: Board members set policy, approve the budget and oversee district governance. Voters can use the introductions and upcoming candidate forum (meet‑the‑candidates) to compare backgrounds before casting ballots on May 19.
