The county board approved payment of bills totaling $639,165.91 and approved a contract amendment to clarify activities and end dates for a previously awarded Kalin Prep opioid grant.
Finance director Jill asked the board for a motion to approve bills totaling "$639,165.91," which was moved, seconded and approved on roll call. Jill also reviewed a revised budget submitted by Kalin Prep: while the total grant amounts remained the same, the grantee revised activity descriptions after staff found the original bill's activities did not match the submitted budget. Jill said the amendment also corrects inconsistent contract end dates and clarifies the contract will end on "12/31 of this year" to make the contract auditable.
Commissioners discussed how long opioid funding might remain available and staff said the initial allocation was distributed over many years. The board approved the contract amendment to accept the revised budget and clarified that finance staff need sufficient detail for audit and reporting purposes.
The items were approved as presented; staff will continue to oversee grant reporting and the next grant round will be posted through Horizon.
