San Juan County commissioners voted to adopt Ordinance No. 131, authorizing the county to accept a $250,000 grant from the New Mexico Economic Development Department and to serve as fiscal agent for a Durango Machining Innovations LLC renovation project.
At the meeting the county’s presenter, Sawyer, said: “Durango Machining Innovations LLC has received a local economic development grant of $250,000 from the New Mexico economic development department for construction and renovation of buildings located at 368 Highway 170 to house 2 rotational lining, rotor lining machines.” The ordinance approves an intergovernmental agreement with the economic development department and a project participation agreement between DMI and the county that spells out each party’s responsibilities.
Commissioner (speaker 4) moved to adopt the ordinance and was seconded; the chair called for a voice vote and said, “Aye.” The motion was carried. Staff noted the Board approved a notice of intent to adopt at its April 7 meeting and that the notice ran in the Tri City Record on 04/13/2026.
The county did not record a roll‑call vote in the transcript; the commission adopted the ordinance by voice vote and staff will proceed to execute the agreements so the grant can fund construction and renovation at 368 Highway 170.
